Moderating Role of Social Support on the Relationship Between Complex Trauma and PTSD in Adolescents

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate moderating role of social support between complex trauma and PTSD(Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) among adolescents. Data were collected from 219 middle school students. Collected data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, moderated multiple regression and simple slope analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, subjects reported bullying, sense of alienation, physical abuse sexual abuse as complex trauma. Second, complex trauma were significantly related to the PTSD in adolescents. Third, social support moderated between the complex trauma and PTSD. These findings supported the importance of specified intervention for people with complex trauma in adolescents. Suggestions of mental health social work were discussed and proposed for future research.
